Skin peel

Tired, pale, drawn skin that lacks youthful freshness is often perceived as particularly unwelcome. Environmental influences in particular, such as sunlight and nicotine, have severe negative effects on the skin as the years go on. The use of classical cosmetics often fails to produce the desired success, so that the focus in treatment may turn to a skin peel.

This is an effective therapy for acne scars, coarsened pores, pigmentation marks and fine to pronounced wrinkles – and it can be applied anywhere on the body, for example to age marks in the cleavage or on the hands. Smokers often complain about the pleats in the area around their mouth, and here too, the skin peel may be a treatment option.

In chemical peeling, various different solutions can be deployed, improving the skin of the face and smoothing its structure. The uppermost layers of skin are removed, so that the relief of the skin becomes more even and much finer. Peelings vary according to the depth at which they take effect and depending on the active substance used.

In our practice, we also use chemical agents such as trichloroacetic acid and phenol, which allow us to penetrate deeper layers of the skin. In this way, we can also treat deep wrinkles specifically and effectively, achieving a quality which is not possible with fruit acid peelings.

The skin peel leads to a rejuvenation of the skin and an improvement in collagen production. The cells of the skin produce more hydrophilic hyaluronic acid, thus stabilising the protective acid mantle of the skin. Following some temporary reddening of the skin caused by the treatment itself, the desired surface smoothing effect comes about, and an even, sleek skin texture develops.

Optionally, good effects can be achieved via several peelings at regular intervals, each followed by immediate presentability, or one intensive peeling in a single session, followed by a scheduled period of time out.

In many cases, it makes good sense to combine chemical peeling with a treatment with hyaluronic acid, botulinal toxin or thread lift.
