Treatment of funnel chest in men

The so-called funnel chest is a common clinical picture in men. From puberty onwards, this can often lead to permanent feelings of shame vis à vis the female sex, but also vis à vis other men.

In these cases, the sternum (breastbone) is sunken or retracted to a greater or lesser extent. If the emphasis is on functional problems, it becomes necessary to widen the ribcage by surgical means. However, the focus is mostly on cosmetic impairment.

Training the chest muscles may help, but in the great majority of cases it is unfortunately not sufficient to hide the asymmetry. For this, there are various different microsurgical treatment methods which leave few scars, such as the fitting of tailor-made implants and / or autologous reconstruction with fat from your own body. These can help you regain a confident appearance.
